Well, almost two. I have finished the little boys quilt that I made using the Disappearing Nine Patch pattern. I am pretty pleased with the way it turned out. And that pattern is my new favorite. I love the transformation that occurs when I make those two cuts and flip the quadrants around! And the finished quilt looks WAY more complicated than it is.
I backed it with the cutest black fabric with mulit-colored stars! And.....drumroll.......I already owned each and every piece of fabric I used in this. And you know what that means! It qualifies as a challenge completion! Yeah!
Would you love it if you were a little two year old boy?
The little girl quilt is almost done. Here it is in process....
Well, I have two pieces of fun news....First, I won the Quilt Home blog of the week giveaway! Can you BELIEVE it? They picked me? I get a $20 gift certificate to spend on their site. I love the selection they have and their customer service is stellar. You can check them out here. Second piece of news, I am going to be teaching several classes coming up at Bernina of Dallas. I am SO excited. I met with them yesterday and will be teaching a class called "I Never Thought I'd Be a Quilter", a Sew Cute Clothing-Tunic, and the Disappearing Nine Patch as a baby quilt. Check their site for the dates and class descriptions. If you haven't been there, the Dallas Modern Quilt Guild will be hosting their monthly meeting there tomorrow night. Hope to see you there if you are in the Dallas area. They have lots of fun classes covering all areas of sewing. Their website has the class schedules.
I agree about the disappearing nine-patch. It is so fun to watch it "disappear". I think I'm bringing one tonight, actually.
ReplyDeleteVery cute boy quilt! I'm ready to see the full girl version. And congrats on your win!
Cute quilts, Michelle! And, congrats on your blog of the week! I wish I had been able to make the meeting last week. I need a helicopter!
